Pilgrim Baptist Church, Reconstruction
Chicago, Illinois

Virtually destroyed by a fire in 2006, this church, originally a synagogue, was designed by Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler in the 1880's and constructed in the 1890's. The design effort involves reconstruction of this historic architectural landmark, including working with the church to create a program, master plan, and floor plans. The ground floor incorporates a display space for historic documentation of the building while the upper floors, comprising the 2-story sanctuary, represent Sullivan's original design intent.
